The day starts at West Valley Presbyterian Church with a Breakfast at 8:30 am followed by a short commissioning service at 9:15 am.  Some projects start on the WVPC campus immediately following the commissioning service, some projects are off-site and project leaders will gather the teams and head to the project site, while others will take place later in the day.

ON-SITE projects

CARE-CRAFTERS   (8-10 PEOPLE)                                                                                              LIBRARY, AGES 8+
Come join us in knitting for the homeless, babies and those in need. No experience necessary, you can learn to knit/crochet! Patterns and yarn provided or bring of your own. 

WELCOME HOME BASKETS                                                                                      MC HATTIE HALL, ALL AGES
Rebuilding Together is hosting a community event with hundreds of volunteers to rebuild 32 homes in October, their mission is to repair homes, revitalize communities and rebuild lives. We will provide welcome home packages. 


TOY MAKING FOR OPERATION   (8-10 PEOPLE)                                                               ROOM 8/9, ALL AGES
Help make toys to put in Operation Christmas Child shoe-boxes. Projects include stuffing soft toy bears, designing jigsaw puzzles and more.

CITY TEAM                                                                                              GOOD FAMILY ACTIVITY FOR AGES 14+

City Team reaches out to people in need and shows them hope in Jesus Christ in order to formulate real, lasting change in their lives. Volunteers will meet at City Team Recovery Center to not only prepare and serve a meal, but to also conduct and participate in a worship service. Come prep, cook, serve, cleanup, or even just be kind and visit with those who show up for the meal. 

UNITY CARE GROUP HOME ​                                                                                    AGES 16+ OR WITH PARENT
 306 Viewpark Circle, San Jose

​Unity Care Transitional House currently serves young women, but we need to change it to serve boys ages 16-21. So let’s transform the house so that it’s gender neutral with paint and decorate to make it warm and inviting. Come out and lend a helpful hand to a worthy cause.

AIMILY SUPPORTIVE HOUSING - MEAL PREP & SERVE                                  ALL AGES, FAMILY FRIENDLY
692 N. King Rd. San Jose
Come prepare and serve lunch to approximately 60-70 families and children at Family Supportive Housing. They provide temporary housing and supportive services in the Bay Area.

PAST PROJECT - VISIT WESTGATE VILLA   (10-12 PEOPLE)                                ALL AGES, FAMILY FRIENDLY

Join us in singing and gladden the hearts of men and women who are residents at West Gate Villa, a nearly assisted living facility. Your caring presence is an encouragement.

SATURDAY projects

THE REFUGE                                                                                                                                                    AGE 8+
4:00 pm at Murphy Park, 194 N Sunnyvale Ave, Sunnyvale

Several volunteer families are needed to prepare and help serve food to the homeless at the Murphy Park Community Center in Sunnyvale on Saturday. Food is prepared and taken to the Center around 4:00 pm. The meal is then served, followed by a worship service. This is an ideal project for those who cannot serve on Sunday.  You can even prepare food prior to Saturday.
