"Service worship" is an emerging movement among Christ-centered churches that says that worship needs to happen not just in our sanctuary, but out in the community. It is achieved through acts of service to people in need.
More and more churches are scheduling periodic congregation-wide service days - either in addition to their normal Sunday morning worship services, or instead of them.
The congregation is called out to serve in work projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of people in the community.
Through these service days, the church follows Christ's instruction to serve others and it challenges societal perceptions of the church in the world. it often yields in individuals a new sense of their own personal purposes in mission and service.
At the Service Worship Conference, you will hear how churches in your own immediate area are doing this today, how your members can participate in scheduled Service Worship days or how you can incorporate service days into your church year.
Hear from people who have done it, and can share how it has benefited their congregations and communities. Connect with front-line agencies and non-profit organizations who need your help.
Receive practical guidance on how to start, how to engage various groups in your church, and how to use service to renew and rejuvenate your church.
We hope you can come!
